First project for the Interior Architecture BSc Honours in Ireland, year 2 !
The idea was to create a hairdresser in the Architecture Factory of the college, using one of the existing containers inside (in reality, lecturers’ offices). The main difficulty was that they are quite long, about 12 m, but very narrow, and they are in a student space where people pass by a lot.
I wanted to created something very intimate, private : I used dark colours to create a subdued atmosphere. Inspired by turbans and veils, I also used dark veils to create an envelop around each seat for the cutting area. The difficulty there was to render it, but using promarkers I managed it : software was not allowed for this project.
